A LIFE IN EXPLORATION / ZIER WANG
Growth lives
at the
boundaries.
Hong Kong-born. A cross-border student, researcher, athlete, curious observer, and pursuer of beauty.
I explore where movement meets the mind, and where understanding myself becomes a way to understand others.

A MOMENT OF DISCOVERY
HONG KONG → SHENZHEN → COLUMBUS
CROSSING PLACES. CONNECTING PERSPECTIVES.
01 / THE PLACES THAT SHAPED ME
A life between
places.
Before I knew where I was going,
I learned how to be on my way.
My earliest classrooms were border crossings, unfamiliar streets, and conversations along the way. Each new place asked me to pay attention.

NEW ZEALAND, 2011 / THE FIRST JOURNEY

HONG KONG / GROWING UP IN TRANSIT
2011
A first journey
New Zealand. A family homestay, unfamiliar rhythms, and a rainbow after the rain.
2013

School days between Shenzhen and Hong Kong, learning independence one morning at a time.
2019
A different terrain
Snow in the Czech Republic; unexpected turns on the road in Australia.
2025
A new beginning
Columbus Academy. A new school, a new team, and another way to belong.
Curiosity takes many forms.

↗
Making room for other voices.
Peer mentorship, community service, journalism, and backstage work. Small acts of listening can become a shared sense of belonging.
Explore community & expression →03 / A QUESTION I KEEP COMING BACK TO
MOVEMENT × MIND × CARE
What moves us?
And what happens in the mind
when the body moves?
Sport gave me a personal reason to ask. Research gave me ways to investigate. My independent work explores the relationships between physical exercise, screen exposure, and adolescent mood.
THE QUESTION
How might exercise support adolescent mental well-being?
THE APPROACH
Connecting lived experience with neuroscience, cognitive psychology, and quantitative inquiry.

LEARNING HOW TO ASK BETTER QUESTIONS

STILL LEARNING. STILL LOOKING.
